Serve Our States
Serve Our States (S.O.S.) is an established nonprofit dedicated to transforming service into a pathway for purpose, leadership, and hope. Founded in 2016, S.O.S. equips our youth to become engaged changemakers through hands-on volunteer opportunities, leadership development, and mission-driven initiatives that strengthen both communities and the individuals who serve them.
At its core, S.O.S. redefines volunteerism as a powerful tool for mental wellness. In a time when millions lack access to mental health professionals, we empower students of all ages and backgrounds to build resilience, connection, and confidence through service. We are actively creating space for open conversations, reducing stigma, and helping bridge the gap where traditional mental health resources fall short.
Serve Our States lobbies and advocates for mental health, because not all struggles are seen, but all struggles deserve to be heard.

A Legacy of Service
Treats for Troops (2017)
In honor of Major Richard Martin, Treats for Troops seeks to donate candy, gum, and supplies to troops overseas each November. Since its launch in 2017, Serve Our States has collected and donated over 2,000 pounds of candy!
Holiday Giving (2018-2020)
For three years straight, we organized two major holiday giving back projects. Project Camelot used monetary donations to purchase new beanies and gloves for Title I students. Blue Santa turned a drive into an extra credit class incentive, leading to 6,000+ toy donations.
Diaper Drive (2020)
To help struggling parents during a global pandemic, Halle spearheaded a community drive, working alongside student leaders from 6 organizations. We collected and donated 5,000 diapers and 200 baby wipe packages.
Bookin’ It (2021)
After Covid, Bookin' It was created to collect book donations and host free book fairs for Title-i elementary students. Over 2,500 children's books have found new, loving homes. Partnering with New Worlds Reading, the project won three awards!
Purple Rain (2022)
Serve Our States planned and hosted fundraisers for Peaceful Paths, a shelter for domestic violence survivors, raising a total of $13,750! Purple Rain was a paint dodgeball tournament, including 30 teams and 150 volunteers.
Fashion Shows (2023)
